Laboratory Technician

Apex Systems is seeking a skilled Laboratory Technician to join their team in the Oil and Gas industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in natural gas laboratory testing and sample collection.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Prepare solutions, cylinders, and equipment for sample collection.
  • Collect field samples according to recognized methods and SOPs.
  • Log in samples upon return to the lab.
  • Perform physical and gas chromatography testing of samples.
  • Analyze and record results.
  • Provide a legible chain of custody and thorough notes related to sample details and testing results.
  • Maintain and calibrate lab equipment and instruments.

Requirements:

  • An Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree in a science field is preferred.
  • Biology, Chemistry, Natural Sciences, Environmental Sciences, or Physics.
  • Non-degreed candidates with relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Should be mechanically inclined, a self-motivator, and eager to learn technical and industrial processes in the oil and gas industry.
  • Ability to work both as a team member and independently.
  • Ability to enter data accurately and maintain various logs.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in possibly inclement conditions.
  • Candidates MUST be flexible to working 12 hour shifts, 7am-7pm and 7pm-7am, as well as weekends.
