Overview

A prominent player in the financial services sector is seeking a Category Manager to enhance their Strategic Sourcing division, focusing on the claims services category.

This position emphasizes the formulation and oversight of strategies related to claims services expenditure. The selected candidate will manage strategic sourcing initiatives, implement best practices, and lead contract negotiations. This role is designed for an individual contributor, providing significant autonomy and exposure to senior management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and nurture relationships with both new and existing suppliers within the designated spend category.
  • Oversee the complete lifecycle of expenditures and collaborate with the sourcing delivery team to implement innovative solutions.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for business leaders, defining best practices, identifying new opportunities, and setting KPI targets.
  • Lead the end-to-end sourcing processes.
  • Draft and evaluate contracts to ensure adherence to high-quality standards.
  • Work collaboratively with various teams within the Claims organization.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate sourcing or procurement.
  • Proven experience in sourcing and negotiating contracts.
  • Background in the insurance sector or direct experience with claims-related expenditures.
  • Experience in leading strategic sourcing processes and managing contract negotiations and drafting.
  • Familiarity with Continuous Improvement and Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience with procurement software such as Coupa or Ariba.
  • Bachelor's Degree is required; advanced degrees or certifications in purchasing management are highly preferred.
