Job Title: Clinical Nurse Specialist

Job Summary:
The Clinical Nurse Specialist at Waterbury Hospital plays a vital role in the delivery of patient care. This position is responsible for providing expert clinical judgment and decision-making skills to improve patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Nursing Process:

* Develops and implements individualized patient care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.

* Provides education and support to patients and their families to promote health and wellness.

* Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.

Leadership:

* Demonstrates leadership skills to promote a positive and supportive work environment.

* Fosters open communication and teamwork among healthcare professionals.

* Promotes a culture of safety and quality care.

Quality:

* Participates in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.

* Stays current with best practices and evidence-based guidelines.

* Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

* Graduate of an accredited RN program.

* State of CT licensed or license eligible RN.

* BLS/ACLS certification required.

* Neonatal Resuscitation Certification required.

* EFM Certification to be obtained within eighteen (18) months of hire.

* Must complete AWOHNN classes Intermediate then Advanced Fetal Monitoring Classes every two (2) years.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.

* Ability to interact with patients and families with tact and confidentiality.

* Ability to approach clinical responsibilities with a patient-centered focus.
