The Manager of Energy and Utilities will report directly to the Associate Director, Head of Energy & Utilities, and will oversee all energy and utility operations on a daily basis. This role encompasses the management of the Utility Operations and Energy Management teams, ensuring a consistently superior experience for Link and its clients. We are looking for a proactive individual with experience in team leadership, dedicated to cultivating a high-performing team within a performance-driven environment.
We seek a dedicated and knowledgeable Manager to lead and motivate our expanding energy team. This position is vital in advancing our dedication to energy efficiency, sustainability, and cost management across our real estate portfolio. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a robust technical background and proven leadership capabilities to advocate for energy initiatives throughout the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the Head of Energy and Utilities Director in all aspects of energy management, efficiency initiatives, and cost recovery programs.
- Develop and execute energy management strategies aimed at reducing energy consumption, costs, and environmental impact for Link's clients.
- Oversee specific activities related to Link's third-party Utility Bill Management Partners, including utility budgets, accruals, and compliance with ENERGY STAR Benchmarking.
- Serve as an Energy Subject Matter Expert (SME) with expertise in energy procurement, data management, and demand-side solutions.
- Collaborate with the Building Solutions team to identify, develop, and implement energy projects and initiatives that reduce capital and operational expenses, including the establishment and reporting of KPIs.
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including property managers, clients, utility providers, government entities, and industry partners.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion.
- Communicate effectively with team members, providing regular updates, constructive feedback, and opportunities for professional development.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This role requires effective communication and information exchange, as well as the ability to compile and prepare work documents using standard business office equipment.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in a general office environment, with potential extended hours during peak periods. Occasional travel may be necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Energy Management, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience in energy management, preferably within the real estate sector.
- Proven leadership skills with experience in building and managing high-performing teams.
- Exceptional project management skills with a history of successfully delivering energy efficiency projects on schedule and within budget.
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, employing a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Familiarity with energy management software, tools, and technologies, including energy management systems, HVAC systems, and lighting systems.
- Relevant industry certifications such as CEM or LEED AP are highly desirable.
