Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team at Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on our facilities, ensuring that they are safe, clean, and well-maintained. This is a critical role that requires attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on facilities, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC work.
- Identify and report any safety hazards or maintenance issues to management.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure that facilities are well-maintained and safe.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that maintenance work is completed efficiently and effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, including repairs, replacements, and maintenance schedules.
- 3-5 years of experience in maintenance or a related field.
- Certifications or formal training in a trade such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or carpentry.
- Ability to read and write English as demonstrated by clear and concise written and verbal communications.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic skills such as measurement, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to frequently use general maintenance tools, supplies, and equipment.
- Ability to frequently handle and use chemicals and general cleaning supplies.
- Ability to frequently transport up to 60 pounds variable distances.
The incumbent will work in a non-confined office-type setting in which he or she is free to move about at will. The environment for this position is mostly clean and comfortable but may include some minor annoyances such as noise, odors, drafts, etc.
