Pharmacist - Clinical Expert

Responsibilities:
* Receive, review, and interpret prescriptions written by physicians or other practitioners authorized by law to prescribe medication.
* Determine completeness of prescription to assure that medication has been properly prescribed.
* Provide information to patients through consultation and monitor patient profiles on a daily basis.
* Assign price for items issued on prescription or requisition basis in accordance with established fee schedule.
* Bottle or otherwise package medications and affix labels to appropriate containers.
* Store, preserve, and issue biological, vaccines, serums, and other drugs subject to deterioration in accordance with procedures.
* Ensure that narcotics and alcohol are stored in safeguarded areas in accordance with Federal and State laws.
* Periodically check expiration dates of drugs and medical supplies to avoid deterioration.
* Answer the telephone in the pharmacy area and give replies to requests for information or refer or relay calls to appropriate person.
* Supervise, direct, and provide oversight to the Pharmacy.
* Resolve or clarify problems arising with respect to pharmacy operation, and other Health Center services and personnel.
* Refer problems to the COO for review.
* Send stock to each clinic site as needed.
* Consult with the advisory members of the medical or related staff concerning the formulary on medications, therapeutic devices, and drug therapy.
* Supply information and informational materials with respect to drugs and drug products.
* Provide clinical pharmacy services and oversight.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
* Bachelor of Science (BS) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited pharmacy program.
* Three (3) years of pharmacy experience; clinic or healthcare facility preferred.
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to supervise staff.
* Ability to work cooperatively with other personnel in a team effort to accomplish objectives.
* Valid driver's license and automobile with insurance coverage as required by the State of Missouri.
* Valid Pharmacy License - State of Missouri.
