Key Responsibilities:

The Outpatient Nutrition Specialist will:

  • Deliver comprehensive nutrition services by applying evidence-based clinical practices to evaluate complex nutritional needs of patients.
  • Identify patients at nutritional risk and provide appropriate treatment and therapy through coordinated medical nutrition support.
  • Establish operational standards and develop resources to promote optimal nutrition intake, enhancing treatment outcomes and quality of life.
  • Collaborate with the medical and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to align nutrition support with patient management goals.
  • Utilize health information systems to effectively coordinate patient care.
  • Educate and counsel patients, families, and caregivers as part of a holistic care approach.
  • Stay updated on the latest research, policies, and standards in nutrition.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (required)
  • Master's degree in nutrition, public health, or a related discipline (preferred)
  • Registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration or eligible for registration (required)
  • Licensed by the appropriate state board for dietitians (required)

Experience:

  • Minimum of one year of experience as a Registered Dietitian in a critical care environment (preferred)
  • Experience in community or outpatient nutrition therapy (preferred)

Certifications:

Advanced practice certification from recognized professional organizations (preferred).
