Job Summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Rehabilitation Specialist to join our team. As an Exercise Physiologist, you will play a critical role in providing medically prescribed exercise therapy to patients with multiple system disease states.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret patient exercise program data and direct patient activity/exercise through ongoing monitoring and evaluation of clinical status.
  • Recommend exercise/activity progression and maintain ongoing communication with the cardiac rehab team members.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized exercise programs.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine patient's clinical status and progress.
  • Provide education and guidance to patients on exercise techniques and safety protocols.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology, Health Science, Kinesiology, or Sports Medicine.
  • BLS certification and ACLS certification within the first 6 months.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail-oriented.
  • EKG interpretation skills, with completion of EKG interpretation training through OSF required within the first 6 months.
Preferred Qualifications
  • M.S. in Exercise Physiology or Health Science.
  • 1 year of experience as an Exercise Physiologist in a Cardiac or Pulmonary Rehab setting.
  • Experience with cardiac and pulmonary patient management.
