Exercise Physiologist

Job Summary:

OSF HealthCare seeks a skilled Exercise Physiologist to join our Cardiac Rehabilitation team. As an Exercise Physiologist, you will provide medically prescribed exercise therapy for patients with multiple system disease states. Your expertise will be essential in interpreting patient exercise program data and directing patient activity/exercise through ongoing monitoring and evaluation of their clinical status.

Responsibilities:

Provide exercise therapy for patients with multiple system disease states
Interpret patient exercise program data and direct patient activity/exercise
Monitor and evaluate patient clinical status through assessment of heart rate, blood pressure, blood sugar, and peripheral capillary oxygen saturation
Recommend exercise/activity progression and maintain ongoing communication with the cardiac rehab team

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology, Health Science, Kinesiology, or Sports Medicine
BLS certification
ACLS certification (completion required within the first 6 months)
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail-oriented
EKG interpretation skills (completion of EKG interpretation training through OSF required within the first 6 months)

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in Exercise Physiology or Health Science
1 year of experience as an Exercise Physiologist in a Cardiac or Pulmonary Rehab setting
Experience with cardiac and pulmonary patient management
