As a key member of MISO Energy, the Cybersecurity Risk and Compliance Specialist will play a pivotal role in our cybersecurity initiatives. This position entails assessing potential vulnerabilities, establishing appropriate controls, and ensuring their effective implementation. You will work collaboratively with various departments, including IT, Operations, and Compliance, to identify cybersecurity threats and develop strategies for risk mitigation. Furthermore, you will assist in managing MISO's cybersecurity risk management frameworks, with a focus on security and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, enhance, and oversee IT security controls.
- Identify and evaluate IT security risks.
- Propose effective risk mitigation strategies.
- Maintain and update risk and control matrices, providing best practice insights for IT projects.
- Monitor the effectiveness of IT security controls.
- Offer guidance to IT security control owners to ensure compliance and readiness for audits.
Success Indicators:
- Your contributions to refining our Risk and Control Matrices are evident and impactful.
- You lead risk and control initiatives with minimal oversight.
- You cultivate strong relationships with stakeholders involved in risk and control management.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of four to six years of experience in information security risk and compliance, with a thorough understanding of risks and controls.
- Experience in conducting cybersecurity risk assessments, treatment planning, and reporting.
- Foundational knowledge of Risk Management principles and IT concepts.
- Familiarity with security management and compliance processes, including industry frameworks such as SOC2, ISO27001, and NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
- Preferred certifications include CISSP, CISA, CISM, and/or CRISC; other technical security certifications are advantageous.
