Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a highly skilled Certified Fetal Echo Sonographer to join our team in Nashville. As a key member of our Maternal Fetal Medicine clinic, you will work closely with our healthcare team to provide comprehensive care to patients.
Responsibilities- Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations, ensuring their comfort and cooperation.
- Explain procedures to patients prior to testing, providing education on medical ultrasound and its benefits.
- Conduct ultrasonic diagnostic procedures, recording anatomical, pathological, and physiological data for interpretation by physicians.
- Assist physicians during invasive procedures requiring ultrasound guidance, ensuring accurate and safe execution.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and confidentiality of medical records.
- Code services performed, submit billing worksheets, and notify Patient Service Associates of additional services requiring authorization.
- Operate ultrasound equipment, recognizing malfunctions and taking corrective action to ensure optimal performance.
- Manage inventory of ultrasound supplies, maintaining adequate stock levels.
- Archive and maintain records of scans, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
- Act in a non-directive, non-judgmental manner, respecting patients' religious, ethical, and moral opinions.
- Recognize and address ethical, legal, and professional issues inherent in providing care to pregnant women, infants, and children.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in fetal echo sonography.
- Current/valid certification in diagnostic ultrasound.
- Completion of an approved ultrasonography educational program or equivalent experience.
- Current fetal echo certification.
- Eligibility for certification as an American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.
- Continuing education credits to fulfill accreditation requirements.
