Job Title: Patient Care Coordinator

My Psychiatrist is a well-established multi-disciplinary outpatient mental health group practice seeking a Full-Time Patient Care Coordinator/Medical Receptionist.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Greeting and Communication: Greet patients and visitors with a friendly and professional demeanor, and respond to patient inquiries promptly and courteously.
  • Scheduling and Calendar Management: Schedule patient appointments and manage the appointment calendar to ensure efficient use of clinical staff time.
  • Patient Information and Records: Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details and personal information, and maintain accurate patient records and update patient information as needed.
  • Payment and Billing: Process patient payments and assist with insurance billing and claims to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement.
  • Administrative Support: Assist clinical staff with administrative tasks as needed, such as filing, scanning, and faxing, to maintain a smooth and efficient office environment.
  • Office Maintenance: Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the reception area and waiting room to ensure a welcoming and professional atmosphere.
  • Compliance and Confidentiality: Ensure compliance with all HIPAA regulations and patient privacy policies to protect sensitive patient information.
  • Check-in and Check-out Process: Manage the patient check-in and check-out process, including verifying insurance eligibility, collecting co-payments or other fees, and providing necessary paperwork to patients.
  • Waiting Area and Treatment Room Management: Direct patients to the appropriate waiting area or treatment room and notify clinical staff of their arrival to ensure timely and efficient care.
  • Filing and Organization: Maintain an organized and up-to-date filing system for patient records and other office paperwork to ensure easy access and retrieval of information.
  • Team Collaboration: Coordinate with other staff members to ensure the smooth flow of patient care and office operations, and attend meetings and training sessions as required to stay up-to-date on office policies and procedures.
  • Emergency Protocols: Follow established protocols for handling emergencies or urgent patient requests to ensure timely and effective response.
Requirements:
  • Schedule: Must work Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm or 10am-6pm schedule.
  • Education: HS/GED required, some college preferred.
  • Background: Retail, hospitality, customer service, or sales backgrounds are desired.
  • Skills: Strong customer service skills, warm and friendly demeanor, well-versed in technology and computer, technically savvy.
  • Experience: Previous experience in healthcare or mental health office is highly desired.
