Job Title: College and Career Coordinator

Capital Preparatory Schools is seeking a dedicated and passionate College and Career Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting students in their academic and career pursuits.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students with the college application process, including research, applications, and fee waivers.
  • Provide guidance on elective support, such as college essay writing, Naviance, Common App, and admissions requirements.
  • Assist with transcript evaluations, transcript distribution, and scheduling mock interviews with scholars.
  • Plan and coordinate college trips, including college fairs, and schedule visitations by college representatives.
  • Provide information on scholastic aptitude and achievement tests, assist with applications and scheduling, and distribute test results as appropriate.
  • Organize and maintain guidance materials, catalog and prepare for use by students, and maintain displays and bulletin boards.
  • Plan and collaborate with team members on college culture activities, such as college reveal day and homecoming events.
  • Schedule financial aid meetings for students and families and work with families to determine the most appropriate school placement.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of career and occupational resources, trends, and opportunities.
  • College entrance requirements and procedures.
  • Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary.
  • Modern office practices, procedures, and equipment.
  • Record-keeping techniques.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Telephone techniques and etiquette.
  • Basic research methods.
  • College admission requirements, financial aid requirements, and training necessary for future careers.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Naviance, Common App, FAFSA.gov, and College Board.
  • Specialized assistance and information concerning career planning and college entrance to students, parents, staff, and community agencies.
  • Development of materials related to career/college opportunities for high school students.
