Job Summary

The Academic Support Mentor plays a crucial role in guiding and assisting students, particularly freshmen or those identified as needing additional academic support. This position involves:

  • Providing personalized mentorship to enhance academic performance.
  • Instructing students on effective study techniques, including test preparation, note-taking strategies, and time management skills.
  • Fostering a supportive learning environment that accommodates diverse backgrounds and learning styles.

Successful candidates will demonstrate professionalism, confidence in their teaching abilities, and a commitment to helping students succeed academically.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Basic computer skills, including word processing and email.

Preferred:

  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including proficiency in spreadsheets and databases.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and flexibility in scheduling.
  • Availability during midday and/or evening hours to accommodate student needs.
