Position Overview

Timmons Group is in search of a Transportation Engineering Project Specialist to become a part of our esteemed Traffic Division based in our office.

Key Responsibilities for the ideal candidate encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Utilizing relevant software and design tools to develop segments of engineering projects
  • Applying engineering principles and computational tools to perform calculations and resolve technical challenges
  • Finalizing design specifics and producing comprehensive plan sets
  • Conducting research and drafting analytical summary reports to support project completion
  • Assisting in the formulation of engineering and construction cost assessments
  • Carrying out field observations, inspections, and data gathering as instructed by senior engineers
  • Engaging with client representatives and collaborating with the internal design team under the guidance of senior engineering personnel

Required Skills and Qualifications for prospective candidates include, but are not limited to:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline
  • Preferred candidates will possess between one and eight years of experience in Transportation / Traffic Engineering and site plan development
  • Proficiency in MicroStation is essential
  • Familiarity with Traffic Analyses, Traffic Safety, Traffic Forecasting, Traffic Signal Design, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Design, Signing Design, Traffic Management Plan Design, and/or Traffic Signal Timing is advantageous
  • Experience with Department of Transportation (DOT) projects is preferred
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is preferred
