Responsibilities

Role:


The Anesthesia Technician is responsible for supporting licensed anesthesia providers in the acquisition, preparation, and application of the necessary equipment and supplies for safe and effective anesthesia administration.

This role involves assisting with both routine and complex surgical procedures by preparing and maintaining patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems throughout the anesthesia process, including the operation of various mechanical, pneumatic, and electronic equipment.


Key responsibilities include: 1) maintaining and servicing equipment (cleaning, sterilizing, assembling, calibrating, testing, troubleshooting, and documenting inspections and maintenance); 2) calibrating and verifying the functionality of anesthesia equipment and monitoring devices; 3) disassembling and decontaminating equipment post-use; 4) stocking anesthesia supplies in all relevant locations; and 5) performing point-of-contact clinical laboratory services as needed.


This position requires a thorough understanding of anesthesia-related equipment and monitoring devices, along with the ability to troubleshoot anesthesia delivery systems effectively.


Essential Duties:


Assist in the acquisition, preparation, calibration, and verification of equipment functionality required before, during, and after anesthesia administration, adhering to Standard Precautions and infection control principles.


Under the guidance of the anesthesia provider and/or registered nurse, assist with patient care and invasive/non-invasive procedures, employing aseptic or sterile techniques.


Ensure that anesthesia supplies are stocked in all relevant locations, including bronchoscopy carts, pediatric carts, fiber-optic carts, emergency airway bags, and other anesthesia supply areas.

Maintain records of point-of-contact clinical laboratory services as defined by regulatory standards.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:
Graduation from an accredited Anesthesia Technology program or

Two years of relevant experience as an Anesthesia Technician or in a related healthcare role (e.g., LPN, EMT) demonstrating the necessary knowledge and skills.
License/Certification:


If qualified under the first option, current certification as an Anesthesia Technician through the American Society of Anesthesia Technicians and Technologists (ASATT) is preferred.

Current American Heart Association BLS certification is required.


If classified as Anesthesia Tech-Cert, certification as an Anesthesia Technician through ASATT is mandatory.


Pay Range

$36.39 /hour
