POSITION SUMMARY

The Electronic Systems Technician plays a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electronic systems and their components. This position is responsible for managing equipment related to fare collection, public information displays, communication systems, and security systems. The technician will also provide training and guidance to staff on the proper use and maintenance of these systems.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Installation and Maintenance: Conduct installation, testing, and repairs of electronic systems to ensure optimal functionality. This includes overseeing the installation of new components and performing regular quality checks.
  2. Supervision of Services: Oversee and evaluate the work performed by subcontractors on electronic systems, ensuring quality and compliance with standards.
  3. Inventory Management: Coordinate the procurement and management of electronic system parts, maintaining accurate records of inventory and usage.
  4. Support Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the proper functioning of all support equipment associated with electronic systems, including security and communication devices.
  5. Continuous Learning: Stay updated on advancements in electronic systems technology through training and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in electronic repair and maintenance.
  • Associate's degree in Electronics or a related field is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Ability to interpret technical schematics and manuals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills for training and collaboration with team members.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent standing, walking, and use of hands.
  • Ability to lift and carry items up to 10 lbs regularly.
  • Occasional climbing and bending may be required.
