Position Overview: We are looking for a talented and driven Electrical Engineer to contribute to the advancement of cutting-edge quantum and photonic technologies. This role involves hands-on engagement in the design, development, and integration of both analog and digital circuits for innovative quantum devices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electronic circuits and systems tailored for quantum and photonic applications.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to establish technical requirements and specifications.
  • Rapidly prototype, test, and troubleshoot both digital and analog electronics to meet performance criteria.
  • Create low-noise electronic solutions for optical systems.
  • Conduct advanced testing and measurement to ensure high quality and performance standards.
  • Oversee the packaging of laser and photonic electronics to maintain system integrity.
  • Engage in software programming for integrated system development, enhancing device functionality.
  • Document designs, test outcomes, and project milestones meticulously.
  • Stay informed on the latest trends in electrical engineering and quantum technology to foster innovation.
  • Assist in diagnosing and resolving technical challenges during both development and production stages.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and FPGAs.
  • Proficient in firmware and software development.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and developing electronic circuits, particularly in prototyping and product development settings.
  • Strong foundation in analog and digital circuit design principles.
  • Skilled in utilizing electronic design automation (EDA) tools.
  • Experience with PCB design and layout, including knowledge of signal integrity and EMI/EMC considerations.
  • Hands-on experience in testing and troubleshooting electronic systems.
  • Proficient in programming languages such as C, Python, and Fortran for hardware control and digital signal processing.
  • Familiarity with engineering design tools like SolidWorks and simulation software such as COMSOL Multiphysics.
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory instruments including oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.
  • Expertise in designing low-noise electronic systems.
  • Proficient in advanced electronics testing and measurement techniques.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the capacity to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • Preference may be given to US citizens or green card holders due to export regulations.

Additional Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in electronics development for narrow-linewidth lasers and atomic, molecular, and optical (AMO) experiments.
  • Familiarity with laser and photonics electronics packaging.
  • Experience in RF testing and measurement, RF signal communications, and Software Defined Radio.
