Job Summary

SAIC is seeking a highly skilled Spacecraft Electrical Power Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Vehicle Engineering branch, you will be responsible for designing, integrating, and testing spacecraft electrical power generation, storage, and distribution systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Support the customer in the design, integration, and test of the spacecraft bus electrical power system.
  • Expert Advice: Provide expert advice concerning subsystem development to the Government Program Office (GPO) EPS Project Officer.
  • Review and Coordination: Review and coordinate on all changes to specifications, ICDs, and system-level requirements documentation for the EPS.
  • Tracking and Reporting: Track development issues, significant accomplishments, and upcoming events and provide weekly status updates to the customer.
  • Design Reviews: Attend all unit, subsystem, system-level design reviews, and program management reviews.
  • Manufacturing Reviews: Support all unit manufacturing reviews.
  • Technical Evaluation: Provide technical evaluation of EPS efforts in contractor Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs).
  • Gate Reviews: Attend contractor gate reviews, pre-test, pre-ship, and other meetings as required.
Requirements
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph: Must have an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline (electrical engineering preferred) and 7+ years of education and experience with spacecraft electrical power hardware and software development and test.
  • Defense and Intelligence Community Experience: Experience in defense and intelligence community acquisition and program management processes.
  • Hardware and Software Engineering: Experience in hardware and software engineering, review of contractor designs, evaluation of operating modes, and witnessing of verification and validation activities.
  • Satellite Systems and Architectures: Knowledgeable of launch and flight operations of space vehicles and basic understanding of satellite systems and architectures.
  • Travel: Available to travel occasionally domestically.
