About the Position
The City of Loveland, Colorado, a dynamic community nestled in scenic surroundings, is in search of a skilled Municipal Clerk to become a vital member of the City's Executive Leadership Team. Key Responsibilities
The Municipal Clerk will undertake several critical functions, including:
- Serving as the Clerk for City Council meetings and public sessions.
- Issuing various licenses and maintaining the integrity of all public records, including the Municipal Code.
- Overseeing the administration of public elections.
- Providing essential support to the City Council and managing the recruitment and training of the City's Boards and Commissions.
Leadership Role
The Municipal Clerk will actively participate in the Executive Leadership Team, contributing to the strategic planning of long-term goals and policies for the organization. Reporting directly to the City Manager, the Municipal Clerk will supervise two Assistant Clerks and one Deputy Clerk.

The mission of the City Clerk's Department is to provide exemplary service to the Mayor, City Council, City Manager, administrative departments, and the public, ensuring neutrality and impartiality. The Department aims to enhance the administration of the Clerk's Office in accordance with applicable laws and sound management practices, facilitating easier access to local government for Loveland residents.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Three years of experience as a City Clerk or Assistant/Deputy City Clerk, along with two years of supervisory or management experience in municipal government. Candidates must possess or obtain the Certified Municipal Clerk designation within six months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
A background in public administration, extensive experience in elections, and a solid understanding of municipal budgets are highly desirable. Additionally, experience with public records, licensing, automated agenda management, and board operations is preferred.
