Compliance Officer: Community Development Specialist

We are seeking a Compliance Officer to join our team at PeoplesBank, the largest mutually chartered bank in Western Mass and Northern Connecticut. This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with excellent analytical and communication skills.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of CRA and Fair Lending regulations, as well as experience working with compliance software. As a key member of our Risk Management team, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our CRA and Fair Lending programs, complaint management, and compliance training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage relationships with Wolters Kluwer for CRA and HMDA Whiz, assist business lines with HMDA data and submission, and run reports within the software for CRA and Fair Lending
- Review, determine eligibility, and document bank's community development lending, investments, donations, and volunteer services/hours for CRA qualification
- Produce quarterly reports on lending, donation, and investments, community development lending, and services
- Review and provide analysis, through mapping and other reports, of the bank's lending activities in Low/Moderate Income census tracts and High Minority Concentration census tracts
- Perform annual Fair Lending Risk Assessment
You will also be responsible for coordinating CRA strategy and reporting, overseeing fair lending testing with vendors, and preparing and maintaining the bank's CRA Annual Public File Update. Additionally, you will provide insight and answer CRA and Fair Lending questions from management and staff, coordinate the use of outside help when needed, and update the organization on CRA, Fair Lending, and other compliance-related procedures as needed.
This role requires excellent written, oral, and presentation skills, with the ability to synthesize information and make clear, concise recommendations on a course of action. You will be a creative, team-focused, and effective problem solver with strong collaboration and relationship-building skills.
Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
