Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Contract and Claims Manager to join our high-performing project controls team at Flatiron Construction. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the profitable execution of our projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Risk Identification and Mitigation: Analyze pre-bid proposals and contract documents to identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks during the pursuit and bid phases.
  • Risk Management: Provide ongoing support for active projects, addressing any contractual issues that may arise.
  • Contract Review and Analysis: Coordinate all risk review and management activities throughout the various Bid Review Committee (BRC) phases to ensure all key risks are resolved by the time of bid delivery.
  • Risk Transfer Strategies: Develop risk transfer strategies for joint venture, design agreements, and main subcontracts.
  • Executive Decision Support: Prepare opinions and facilitate executive decision making with respect to key issues in project pursuits.
  • Risk Review and Control Tools: Develop risk review and control tools, including policies, processes, and systems.
  • Stakeholder Relationships: Develop trustful relationships with key stakeholders in estimating, business development, operations, and create alignment on the Company's risk management philosophies.
  • Knowledge and Compliance: Maintain knowledge of the Company's values and strategic plan.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management, or related field required.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience with construction project contracts required.
  • Skills: Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking skills required. Excellent verbal and written skills required. Strong collaboration and team player attitude.
