Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Educator to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a Nurse Educator, you will play a critical role in the development and implementation of our Nursing Education Program, ensuring that our nursing staff receives the highest quality training and education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Orient new nursing staff to facility protocols, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Evaluate competency of new and tenured nursing staff in nursing skills/knowledge.
  • Interpret regulations and communicate them effectively orally and in writing.
  • Assist in writing and revising nursing guidelines.
  • Provide training and education to all levels of staff regarding health maintenance/prevention issues.
Requirements:
  • Considerable knowledge of nursing techniques, standards, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of health care laws and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and productively with all levels of staff.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
