Position Summary
The primary function of the Production Equipment Specialist is to proficiently operate and maintain designated machinery and equipment utilized in the food manufacturing process. This role encompasses inspecting, setting up, operating, and maintaining production machinery in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
As a Production Equipment Specialist, you will be instrumental in supporting the company's goals by assisting the team in achieving or exceeding production efficiency targets. You will ensure adherence to company safety protocols, conduct standards, and sanitation guidelines while complying with Health & Safety and Food Safety Programs.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare machinery and ensure availability of production materials.
- Initiate and conclude production lines, install/remove dies, molds, and tooling, execute changeovers, and ready equipment for subsequent runs.
- Operate, oversee, and maintain equipment, conduct visual inspections, replenish materials, and ensure compliance with pressure, temperature, and other specifications.
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment, perform line checks, troubleshoot machinery to minimize downtime, and report any malfunctions.
- Monitor packaging processes and adjust to changes in packaging to guarantee the use of appropriate materials.
- Accurately complete necessary paperwork and documentation, and formulate batches in accordance with batch sheets.
- Assist team members with safety and quality assurance to ensure daily production is completed efficiently and meets company quality standards.
- Comply with food handling, sanitation, and safety protocols by adhering to company standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and maintaining temperature and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) logs as required.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and quality programs, and report any safety concerns or hazardous conditions.
- Engage in safety training and maintain a safe and organized work area through regular housekeeping practices.
- Train others, demonstrate best practices, and exhibit flexibility and adaptability by taking on new responsibilities, including job rotation.
- Work independently and collaboratively with team members in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating a cooperative attitude by respecting and supporting colleagues.
- Be reliable, punctual, and adhere to company attendance policies, with regular attendance being a crucial job function.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Skills and Working Conditions:
- Ability to tolerate extreme temperatures, humid environments, and high noise levels while utilizing protective equipment.
- Capable of stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and standing for extended periods, as well as walking, reaching, bending, smelling, listening, speaking, and seeing to fulfill essential job duties.
- Work around moving mechanical components and frequently lift, push, and slide packages weighing up to 50 lbs (occasionally up to 70 lbs).
- Exhibit attention to detail, effective time management, and adaptability in a dynamic production environment.
- Read, write, comprehend simple instructions, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, and be available for callbacks as necessary.
Education and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred, or relevant experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity, and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations and unit conversions.
- Certification for motorized pallet jack, forklift, and Lock-out Tag-out may be required.
- Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish/English is a plus.
Compensation: Pay is commensurate with experience, starting at $15.00 per hour.
