REPORTS TO: Quality Assurance Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for ensuring the quality of products through rigorous inspection processes. This role involves conducting visual and dimensional assessments of incoming, in-process, and final products, while maintaining accurate records and documentation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct initial and ongoing inspections, ensuring compliance with customer specifications, quality standards, and engineering documentation.
  • Execute First Article Inspections in accordance with AS9102, including comprehensive dimensional layouts and verification of materials and processes as per engineering drawings.
  • Determine the disposition of inspected items and manage inventory effectively.
  • Carry out in-process inspections and evaluations of finished products.
  • Calibrate, maintain, and manage measuring instruments.
  • Ensure compliance with shelf-life material requirements.
  • Maintain necessary records, data, and logs.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment.
  • Undertake additional projects or tasks as directed by management.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:

  • Associate's degree in a relevant engineering or technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and understanding Geometric Dimensions and Tolerances (GD&T).
  • Familiarity with First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and standards such as ISO9001 and AS9100 is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, exercising sound judgment.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong communication skills.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position may require personal protective equipment in specific areas.
