Job Summary

The Senior Manager, Energy Resources Development will be responsible for creating, supporting, managing, and growing a broad portfolio of renewable energy businesses, including solar, wind, storage, and other emerging technologies across Rayonier's land base. This role will require strong leadership and management skills, as well as the ability to optimize and grow the renewable energy business with a strategic mindset and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Renewable Energy Business Development
    • Create and implement strategies to grow and optimize the renewable energy business, including identifying new opportunities and partnerships.
    • Develop and manage relationships with contractors, neighboring landowners, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
    • Provide leadership and guidance to team members to ensure effective project management and execution.
  • Financial Analysis and Planning
    • Perform financial analyses of business opportunities to determine viability and potential return on investment.
    • Develop and manage budgets and forecasts for the renewable energy business.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Project Management
    • Manage and coordinate appraisal, financial analysis, environmental assessments, permitting, legal review, and other aspects of project development.
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure effective project execution and communication.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Management
    • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, neighboring landowners, and community groups.
    • Communicate project status and progress to stakeholders, including regular updates and reports.
    • Ensure effective communication and collaboration with team members and internal stakeholders.
  • Safety and Environmental Stewardship
    • Ensure a safe and healthy work environment for all employees and contractors.
    • Comply with all applicable safety regulations and company policies.
    • Ensure environmental stewardship and sustainability in all aspects of project development and execution.

Requirements

  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in business, forestry, engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience
    • 5+ years of experience in greenfield utility-scale renewable energy project development, including project siting and design, land control agreements, interconnection, scheduling, budgeting, environmental permitting, requests for proposals (RFPs), power purchase agreements (PPAs), project financing, and construction management.
  • Skills
    • Strong leadership and management skills.
    • Ability to optimize and grow the renewable energy business with a strategic mindset and innovation.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
    • Ability to perform financial analyses and develop budgets and forecasts.
    • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects and stakeholders.
    • Ability to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
