Job Summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients and processing specimens for laboratory testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect blood samples from patients using aseptic techniques and proper phlebotomy procedures.
  • Label and process specimens accurately and efficiently.
  • Assure proper documentation and tracking of laboratory testing.
  • Respond to questions from physicians and nurses regarding laboratory testing.
  • Perform laboratory/radiology clerk duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Prior phlebotomy experience desired.
  • Phlebotomy Certification (PBT) or eligible for certification within 90 days.
  • Approved CPR or BLS certification within 90 days.

Special Physical Demands

The Special Physical Demands of this position include standing, walking, sitting, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
