Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at Mercy Health System. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients, processing specimens, and performing administrative duties as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect blood samples from patients using aseptic technique and following appropriate procedures.
  • Process specimens and ensure their integrity.
  • Provide patient instruction in the collection and handling of personally collected specimens.
  • Assess patient response to procedure and interact with patients in a comfortable and understandable manner.
  • Perform specialized sample collections, including breath alcohol testing, random urine drug testing, and glucose tolerance testing.
  • Maintain a well-rounded competency of all specimen collection procedures within the laboratory.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior phlebotomy experience desired.
  • Experience as a Paramedic, EMT, CNA, and/or MA helpful.
