Job Title: Weapons Receipt Inspection Specialist

Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking a skilled Weapons Receipt Inspection Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Quality Assurance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of weapons receipt inspections.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform weapons program receipt inspections to evaluate procured items and materials for conformance to technical and quality requirements.
  • Prepare inspection reports and nonconformance reports to document findings and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with Weapons Production Agency peer organizations to resolve receipt inspection issues and activities.
  • Coordinate Nonconformances (NCRs) and Compensatory Action Plans (CAPs) to ensure timely resolution of quality issues.
  • Develop, review, and revise work instructions, procedures, and other job aids to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Mentor and train lower-level receipt inspectors through the receipt inspector qualification process.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, such as Quality Assurance, Engineering, or Physics.
  • 5 years of experience in quality assurance, inspection, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of quality assurance regulatory, contractual, and technical documents, including DOE Order 414.1D and ASME NQA-1.
  • Experience with inspection principles and practices, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) and measuring techniques.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to prepare and present quality assurance reports.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Leadership experience, with ability to engage and motivate team members.
  • Experience with security software and ability to utilize it for preventative measures.
  • Knowledge of emerging computing technologies and ability to apply them to quality assurance processes.
Work Environment:

The work location for this position is onsite at Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM. The position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to meet deadlines.

This is a regular appointment position, and the selected candidate will be required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position before being eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory.
