About the Role

This position is part of the Engineering Services Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory, where we develop and apply innovative engineering solutions to support the Laboratory's scientific and national security mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide field engineering leadership through review of construction submittals and technical clarification of design during construction.
  • Assure installations conform to design drawings and manufacturer's instructions.
  • Timely identification of potential design conflicts and scheduling testing and inspection of constructed work.
  • Lead, develop, and document quality assurance and control processes.
  • Assist with preparation of constructed work for commissioning and turnover of completed work to facilities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or Industrial Systems Engineering or a related field.
  • 8 years of related experience for the Construction Quality Assurance Engineer 3 position.
  • 12 years of related experience for the Construction Quality Assurance Engineer 4 position.
Desired Qualifications
  • Registered Engineer in Training (EIT) or licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Advanced engineering or technical degree.
  • Demonstrated experience using and interpreting industry, regulatory, or Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE/NNSA) codes, standards, and criteria pertinent to the construction discipline.
Clearance

This position requires a Q clearance, which requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances.
