Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join our team. As a PCT, you will play a vital role in delivering prescribed treatments and providing top-notch patient care. Responsibilities
  • Provide care to patients with end-stage renal disease, supporting clinical staff throughout the dialysis treatment process.
  • Actively participate in infection control, risk management, and patient education activities.
  • Guide new patients through a 120-day education plan, ensuring they understand their treatment options and care requirements.
  • Obtain and record patient vital signs and machine readings during treatment, under the supervision of a registered nurse.
  • Set up and break down dialysis blood systems for treatment, and insert and remove patient access needles.
  • Monitor patients during dialysis, document changes, and inform the charge nurse of any concerns.
  • Calculate patient weight loss to reach dry weight, and determine patient care priorities and organize workload accordingly.
  • Maintain professional working relationships, observing patient privacy and rights, and maintain and track inventory.
  • Perform laboratory work, as required.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous healthcare experience preferred, but not required.
  • CNA, EMT, medical assistant, CNT, and/or phlebotomy skills desired.
  • DCI provides a 3-month comprehensive education program, including classroom group sessions and one-on-one skills training.
