We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team. As a PCT, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our clinical staff throughout the dialysis treatment process.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care and support to patients with end-stage renal disease
- Assist with infection control, risk management, and patient education activities
- Guide new patients through our comprehensive 120-day education plan
- Obtain and record patient vital signs and machine readings during treatment
- Set up and break down dialysis blood systems for treatment
- Insert and remove patient access needles
- Monitor patients during dialysis, document changes, and inform charge nurses of any concerns
- Calculate patient weight loss to reach dry weight
- Determine patient care priorities and organize workload accordingly
- Maintain professional working relationships, observing patient privacy and rights
- Maintain and track inventory
- Perform laboratory work
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous healthcare experience preferred, but not required
- CNA, EMT, medical assistant, CNT, and/or phlebotomy skills desired
- DCI provides a comprehensive education program, including classroom group sessions and one-on-one skills training
- Dialysis experience not required, job shadow opportunities available
- Paid 12-week training with preceptor
