Job Summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician 3/4 to join our team in Redondo Beach, California. As a key member of our Strategic Space Systems Division, you will assist mechanical engineers in the development, assembly, and integration of space vehicle mechanical components, assemblies, and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of duties assisting mechanical engineers in the development, assembly, and integration of space vehicle mechanical components, assemblies, and systems.
  • Set up and test complete prototype units and subassemblies under operational conditions.
  • Analyze data and recommend modifications to components or test procedures to meet desired specifications.
  • Work with chemicals and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • 4- or 6-years minimum experience in composite technician competencies.
  • US Citizenship required.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain a Department of Defense Top Secret level security clearance.
  • Hands-on knowledge and experience with a variety of hand tools and mechanical equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • AA degree or other two-year technical degree.
  • Demonstrate technical knowledge in composite manufacturing operations and procedures.
  • Experience working with complex engineering drawings, process specifications, and work order instructions.
  • Experience working in clean room environments.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
