About the Role

The US Oncology Network is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Dosimetrist to join our team. As a key member of our radiation oncology department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Treatment Planning: Generate radiation therapy treatment plans using computer software and various imaging modalities, demonstrating strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Anatomy Identification: Identify and delineate anatomy and anatomical positioning on various imaging modalities, ensuring precise treatment planning.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform patient-specific quality assurance activities under the direction of the medical physicist, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Treatment Plan Implementation: Complete treatment plans accurately and in a timely manner based on complexity, adapting to the ever-changing technology and learning new systems and techniques.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate plan details with physicians and staff, offering alternative solutions and consulting with therapists regarding treatment plan implementation.
  • Documentation: Document treatment planning and quality assurance tasks accurately, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Technical Tasks: Transfer treatment plans, treatment parameters, field DRRs, and setup photos and notes to the ROIS (record & verify system), accurately entering codes for technical treatment planning and quality assurance tasks.
  • Additional Responsibilities: May be asked to perform general computerized tasks, such as word processing, using spreadsheets, moving and altering files and directories, and performing data backup.
Requirements
  • Credentials: Credentials as a Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD)
  • Experience: A minimum of two-year experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, team spirit, and the desire and interest to implement new technologies.
