Job Title: Product Attorney - Cybersecurity Specialist

Eaton Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Product Attorney - Cybersecurity Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across the globe and provide legal support and guidance to Eaton's product teams.

The Product Attorney - Cybersecurity Specialist will advise on cybersecurity matters related to our products and services to ensure they comply with global cybersecurity regulations and standards.

This strategic role will be part of product Cybersecurity CoE leadership team helping to drive and execute product cybersecurity strategy from a legal perspective.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert legal advice on cybersecurity issues related to product development, deployment, and maintenance, including advising on applicable product cybersecurity requirements globally
  • Review commercial agreements and advise on product cybersecurity terms and vulnerability reporting language for Eaton products and services
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, and IT, to ensure cybersecurity compliance and best practices
  • Monitor and interpret cybersecurity laws, regulations, and industry standards to ensure Eaton's products and services remain compliant
  • Provide support to management and advise business clients on issues related to contract interpretation, specifically for provisions related to cybersecurity and vulnerability management
  • Conduct thorough product cybersecurity due diligence during corporate transactions & investments to mitigate risk, develop and implement a product cybersecurity integration plan
  • Proactively engage with key functions to coordinate and align on strategy and approach such as Information Technology, Engineering, Operations, Sales, Trade Compliance and other Specialty Practice Groups (SPGs) within the Law Team and effectively communicate cybersecurity risks and practical solutions
  • Deliver creative solutions to both our internal and external customers on legal and/or commercial issues related to product cybersecurity
  • Identify, create and lead trainings, including preparation and presentation of training materials to various departments and functions globally
  • Identify and implement opportunities to develop efficient, comprehensive, long-term processes which influence all aspects of the business
  • Influence and partner across a diverse array of cross-functional teams

Travel up to 25%

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree and Juris Doctorate from an accredited institution
  • Minimum six (6) years' legal experience either in-house or within a multinational law firm including:
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in product counseling
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in cyber security counseling
  • Expertise in product cybersecurity regulations in the United States and Europe
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
  • No relocation is offered for this position. Candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of the Eaton Beachwood or Moon Township location to be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with global digital regulations (EU Data Act, Digital Services Act, EU AI Act, etc.)
  • Technology or engineering focused background
  • Privacy, Cyber or Technology related certificate (e.g. CIPP/US, CIPT, CIPP/E, CIPM, CISSP) a plus
