Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The individual in this role will oversee the installation and repair of electrical components, along with the upkeep of buildings, grounds, utilities, and equipment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Conducts semi-skilled tasks in maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, mechanical, and HVAC work.
  2. Completes and records routine service requests, equipment inspections, and preventative maintenance activities within designated timelines to ensure operational safety and efficiency.
  3. Undertakes minor remodeling and equipment installation initiatives.
  4. Coordinates with external vendors for service calls and minor project execution.
  5. Contributes to the formulation of preventative maintenance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  6. Provides support for production equipment maintenance and electrical upgrades.
  7. Maintains assigned equipment areas in a state of readiness, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
  8. Collaborates with contractors on repairs, modifications, and installations of production equipment.
  9. Works alongside Production, Engineering, and Quality teams on new system installations or modifications.
  10. Assists in projects aimed at facility modifications, capacity enhancements, and efficiency improvements.
  11. Offers on-call support as required.
  12. Demonstrates familiarity with Thorne's facilities and maintenance equipment, promptly reporting any damage or potential issues.
  13. Keeps supervisors updated on project progress and recognizes when to seek assistance to meet objectives.
  14. Adheres to scheduled work hours, punctuality for meetings, and timely returns from breaks.
  15. Completes assigned tasks promptly and is willing to work overtime as necessary.
  16. Proposes innovative ideas and solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
  17. Follows Maintenance Department policies and procedures, as well as Thorne Research's guidelines as detailed in the Employee Handbook.

Qualifications:

  • Experience and/or Education: Candidates must possess the necessary training, education, and/or experience to fulfill the essential duties of the position. A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is mandatory. An associate degree in a relevant technical field or completion of a formal apprenticeship is preferred. Electricians should hold a journeyman or higher qualification. Licensing or certification in relevant trades is advantageous. Previous experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or food manufacturing sectors is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in commercial facility operations and maintenance is required, with at least 10 years in two or more of the following trades: carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanics, or pneumatics.
