As a Cement Operations Trainee, you will participate in a structured training program designed to provide an overview of the cement plant operations. You will support the operations in achieving production goals through partnering with experienced engineers and managers in different departments, including safety, environmental, operations, maintenance, and quality control.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in production and maintenance meetings to ensure smooth operations.
- Learn basic supervisory skills by working side-by-side with supervisors to improve plant performance.
- Complete assigned project work and performance studies to identify areas for improvement.
- Participate in various training programs to enhance your knowledge and skills.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve issues.
- Support the operations in improving plant performance through partnering with experienced engineers and managers in different departments.
- Participate in the Continuous Improvement Program by suggesting changes in routines, personnel, equipment, and process improvement.
- Follow plant and WorkSafeBC Safety Policies, including the proper use of Personal Protection Equipment, and maintain awareness of plant environment standards.
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or a related field (mechanical or electrical engineering considered with solid academic achievements).
- Prior manufacturing exposure or experience is a plus.
- Willingness to travel to other locations during the training program.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced environment with 24/7 operations.
