Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Operations Specialist to join our team at HORST ENGINEERING & MANUFACTURING CO.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and implement production planning processes through collaboration with cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless execution of manufacturing activities.
  • Develop and manage daily production schedules that optimize capacity utilization, raw material allocation, WIP, and finish good inventory levels, driving on-time shipments.
  • Establish and maintain planning controls and inventory levels that can accommodate forecast fluctuations, with a keen focus on production lot sizes.
  • Monitor and coordinate daily performance, production output, scheduling commitments, inventory cycle counts, on-time releases, and overdue releases, ensuring operational efficiency.
  • Manage material requirement planning data, issue job travelers (routers) to the production floor, and optimize manpower, machinery utilization, and inventory levels.
  • Plan work orders for manufacturing based on customer demand and subcontract (OV) cost, monitoring over/under production and making adjustments as needed.
  • Communicate expedite job completion timelines to external customers and notify affected parties of any changes in schedule or delivery dates.
  • Evaluate and ensure sufficient supplies of parts and materials are available, preventing delays and stockouts.
  • Load shop floor planner in ERP when releasing job routers, streamlining operations.
  • Foster effective communication with internal and external customers, support teams, and management, providing updates on production status and addressing concerns promptly.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in a manufacturing or engineering-related field.
  • Minimum two years of experience in scheduling, planning, and/or inventory control in a manufacturing environment involving machining or similar processes.
  • Prior experience with ERP/MRP systems, preferably Epicor ERP.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work under stringent deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proven ability to apply lean enterprise principles to eliminate waste and improve processes.
  • Able to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Estimated Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
