Job Overview
The Kinetic Group is in search of a Procurement Category Specialist to spearhead the Supply Chain strategy aimed at minimizing the overall expenditure on goods and services while supporting production scheduling within a designated sector.

This role requires collaboration with various business units, cross-functional leaders, and essential suppliers. The Procurement Category Specialist is tasked with the objective of delivering cost-effective, high-quality products, and dependable delivery, with a persistent emphasis on risk management.

Successful candidates will establish robust internal and external partnerships that enhance supplier performance and increase the value of our brand portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

Category Strategy Development:
- Formulate and implement procurement strategies tailored to specific categories in alignment with organizational goals.
- Assess category performance metrics, including expenditure, savings, supplier effectiveness, and inventory status.
- Generate regular reports detailing category performance, trends, and areas for enhancement.

Supplier Relationship Development:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery, quality assurance, and competitive pricing.
- Work alongside vendors to improve reporting capabilities and data transparency.

Sourcing and Supplier Evaluation:
- Identify and assess new suppliers based on their capabilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to select suppliers based on criteria such as quality, reliability, and cost efficiency.

Contract Negotiation and Compliance:
- Draft, review, and negotiate supplier contracts.
- Ensure adherence to contractual obligations.
- Monitor supplier performance against established metrics.

Inventory Oversight and Demand Planning:
- Optimize inventory levels to balance cost and availability.
- Collaborate with inventory management teams to avert stock shortages and surplus inventory.
- Predict product demand using historical data and market analysis.

Cost Assessment and Budget Management:
- Evaluate the total cost of ownership (TCO) for procured goods.
- Prepare and oversee category budgets, accounting for both direct and indirect expenses.

Continuous Improvement Initiatives:
- Identify inefficiencies in processes and implement improvements.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and technological advancements related to category management.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years in a supply chain role with direct responsibility for significant supplier initiatives and performance.
- Proven track record as a Procurement Category Specialist or in procurement roles.
- Strong analytical capabilities and familiarity with sourcing tools.
- Proficient in procurement software and tools.
- Excellent communication skills for effective reporting and collaboration.
- Willingness to travel as required.
