Position Overview

We are on the lookout for a dedicated Test Specialist to join our team. This full-time role is based at our facility in Kent, WA, where you will collaborate with engineers and technicians to evaluate rocket systems. Your responsibilities will include the rapid design and construction of testing facilities, as well as their operation and maintenance once established. You will engage with various systems, including hardware, software, mechanical, fluid, and electrical components. The ideal candidate will possess a proactive mindset, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and construct fluid, mechanical, data acquisition, and control systems for diverse testing applications.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot fluid, mechanical, instrumentation, and control systems.
  • Manage the operation and maintenance of vibration tables, thermal chambers, and thermal vacuum chambers.
  • Facilitate the development, qualification, and investigative testing of Stoke components.
  • Draft and implement test procedures.
  • Conduct hazard analyses.
  • Analyze test data effectively.
  • Safely operate high-pressure and cryogenic systems.
  • Contribute to daily operational tasks as part of a small team, including shipping, receiving, and administrative duties.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundational knowledge in engineering principles.
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a testing environment.
  • Experience working in high-pressure and cryogenic settings.
  • Familiarity with data acquisition and control systems.
  • Physical capability to perform tasks such as stooping, bending, crawling, and lifting up to 25 lbs unassisted.
  • A passion for high-quality work, a positive attitude, and a willingness to take ownership of tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to lead and follow effectively.
  • Willingness to relocate to Seattle, WA.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in designing fluid systems from the ground up.
  • Background in building data acquisition systems.
  • Proficiency in creating P&IDs.
  • Experience in writing and executing test procedures.
