Job Overview

The Supplier Development Engineer is responsible for enhancing a premier supply chain by implementing continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing problem-solving methodologies, and providing training within the Doosan Bobcat supply chain.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and select key suppliers while executing continuous improvement initiatives and training based on Lean Six Sigma methodologies to attain exceptional supplier performance in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and overall cost efficiency.
  • Manage multiple priorities and determine necessary internal and external resources for the prompt execution of projects and resolution of issues within the supply chain.
  • Establish and track supply chain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that align with the strategic objectives of Doosan Bobcat.
  • Influence the design of new products and supply chain processes to meet established quality, delivery, and cost objectives using Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools.
  • Address risks associated with supplier product or process modifications.
  • Identify and implement leading supply chain processes, product techniques, and technologies to enhance both internal operations and the supply chain while safeguarding the intellectual properties of Bobcat and its suppliers.
  • Conduct audits of supply base quality systems, processes, capabilities, and capacities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 1-5+ years of relevant experience (Level dependent on experience).
  • Experience in Design Engineering, Manufacturing, or Quality Assurance.
  • Strong project management capabilities.
  • Proficient in applying quality tools and techniques (APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, 8D, DMAIC, etc.).
  • Experience with quality audits (systems and processes).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • Willingness to travel 25 - 50% of the time.
