Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer to join our team at Truist. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for the implementation and management of our Truist Akamai CDN/Prolexic and DNS Infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate business requirements into Akamai policy in a large enterprise environment, following corporate change management and security policy.
  • Help resolve complex technical issues for Truist's web and network applications.
  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform problem tracking, diagnosis, and root-cause analysis, replication, troubleshooting, and resolution for highly complex issues.
  • Oversee others who perform programming and debugging activities.
  • Respond to issues in a timely manner by receiving and investigating incidents or service tickets.
  • Provide technical consultation on extremely challenging or unusual situations.
  • Lead large, complex projects related to improving processes or support capabilities.
  • Engage and manage external vendors.
  • Interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices.
  • Use sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions.
  • Mentor less experienced teammates to build technical expertise.
  • May have people management responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and eight years of experience in development or production support or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Deep specialized and/or broad functional knowledge.
  • Sound understanding of business and organizational strategies and processes.
  • Ability to interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices.
  • Ability to lead complex projects.
  • Sophisticated analytical skills and the ability to solve complex technical and business problems.
  • Ability to influence others at senior levels to adopt a new perspective.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree or MBA and ten years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Deep knowledge and experience in software support or development.
  • Banking or financial services experience.
  • Ability to mentor/support junior level engineers.
  • CISSP or other Security certifications (e.g CCNA security, GSEC, etc.).
  • Recent management experience with Akamai (CDN and WAF) and Advanced DNS experience.
  • Experience with certificate management.
  • Network routing experience.
  • Web proxy experience.
  • Layer 7 troubleshooting experience.

Other Job Requirements/Working Conditions

  • Sitting: Frequently (25% - 50% of the time).
  • Lifting: Up to 25 lbs.
  • Visual/Audio/Speaking: Able to access and interpret client information received from the computer and able to hear and speak with individuals in person and on the phone.
  • Manual Dexterity/Keyboarding: Able to work standard office equipment, including PC keyboard and mouse, copy/fax machines, and printers.
  • Availability: Able to work all hours scheduled, including overtime as directed by manager/supervisor and required by business need.
  • Travel: Up to 25%.
