Job Summary:

This is a contractor technician position in the PTU & BSU Testing Team in Power the Core R&D department of Molecular Conversions division, under the Innovation group.

Key Responsibilities:

Conducts lab work for the testing of catalysts & hydrocarbon feedstocks under the direction of team leader, senior operation team member, and/or research engineer/chemist lab users. These may involve:

  • Handling potentially toxic chemicals
  • Operating complex Bench Scale Unit for catalyst testing equipment which may operate at elevated temperature & pressure (up to 500F and 1000 psig)
  • Handling basic maintenance and troubleshooting for testing equipment
  • Handling sample collection, storage and submission for inspections

Requirements:

Meet Operation Excellence expectations, lab operation safety requirements and project deliverables metrics. Actively document work processes and results to ensure proper Intellectual Property protection.

Selection Criteria:

Minimum requirements include:

  • Mechanical skills for assembling simple piping and testing equipment
  • Experience in laboratory work, such as handling chemicals and operating equipment in a safe and efficient manner

Preferred experience includes:

  • Operation of testing systems including basic maintenance & trouble shooting
  • Operation of testing unit at elevated temperatures and pressures (up to 500F & 1000 psig)
  • Basic excel and word software knowledge

Education:

High school diploma
