Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Paramedic to join our team at Research Medical Center. As an Advanced Paramedic, you will provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department, working under the direction of the Registered Nurse. Your expertise will be essential in delivering high-quality, efficient care to patients requiring urgent or emergency attention.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with obtaining and documenting vital signs, including oxygen saturation, cardiac monitoring, and non-invasive blood pressure monitoring systems.
  • Perform technical functions such as obtaining 12-lead EKGs, discontinuation of peripheral IV and heparin/saline locks, and maintenance and care of specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Assist with patient care and treatments, including positioning patients, application of sterile dressings, immobilization of extremities, cast and splint applications.
  • Complete basic psychomotor skills and activities related to care.
  • Assist with wound care, insertion of Foley catheters and nasogastric tubes.
  • Report and document vital signs, test results, procedures, and pertinent data in a concise and timely manner.
  • Clean and stock carts, rooms, and change linen as required.
  • Provide written instructions and/or educational materials to patients and family members.
Requirements
  • Current licensure in the State as a Paramedic (EMT-P) required.
  • Emergency Medical Paramedic (EMP) certification.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a field Paramedic with an EMS agency and/or clinical experience working in a hospital.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, or ACLS Instructor certification within 6 months of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification, or BCLS Instructor certification within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, or PALS Instructor certification within 1 year of employment start date.
