This role is responsible for collecting recycling items from production, flattening cardboard and other recyclable materials, and transporting them to the designated container. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Key responsibilities include:
  • Collecting and sorting recycling items
  • Flattening cardboard and other recyclable materials
  • Transporting materials to the designated container
  • Loading and unloading pallets from trailers
  • Staging materials in warehouse lanes as instructed
  • Moving materials to production and/or other locations as required
  • Packaging and unpacking materials as needed
  • Examining items for defects, wear, or damage
  • Reporting information to the WHS manager
  • Maintaining records of damaged stock and material-handling equipment
  • Performing other tasks as required
Requirements for this role include:
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods
  • Ability to work on ladders
  • Manual dexterity
  • Ability to work under close supervision
  • Ability to effectively work within a team environment
  • Ability to communicate and follow verbal/written directions
