At Avid Management Resources, we are dedicated to enhancing the educational experience in Early Learning Centers throughout Central Ohio. We are currently seeking a passionate individual for the role of Behavioral Specialist, focused on fostering a nurturing and supportive atmosphere where young children can develop, learn, and flourish.

Position Summary:

The Behavioral Specialist will collaborate closely with children, educators, and families to tackle behavioral issues and encourage positive conduct within the classroom. This position entails crafting and executing tailored behavior intervention plans (BIPs), offering guidance and training to staff, and partnering with parents to maintain consistency between home and educational settings. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in early childhood education and behavioral strategies, particularly with children facing special needs or behavioral challenges.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement customized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) for students exhibiting challenging behaviors.
  • Work alongside educators to incorporate behavioral techniques into everyday classroom activities.
  • Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) to determine the underlying causes of challenging behaviors.
  • Provide direct assistance to students during classroom activities, promoting positive behaviors and enhancing social-emotional skills.
  • Track and evaluate student progress, modifying BIPs as necessary to support ongoing development.
  • Engage with parents and caregivers to offer strategies and resources for managing behaviors at home.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Behavioral Science, Special Education, or a related discipline (Master's degree preferred).
  • Experience in early childhood or educational environments, particularly with children facing behavioral challenges.
  • Familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and other proven behavioral intervention methods.
  • Strong knowledge of child development and the specific behavioral needs of young children.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with educators, parents, and other professionals.
  • Capacity to remain patient, calm, and positive in challenging circumstances.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases concurrently.
  • Certification in behavior analysis or a related field is advantageous (e.g., BCaBA, BCBA).
