Patient Monitoring Specialist, PRN

Cabinet Peaks Medical Center is in search of a Patient Monitoring Specialist to enhance our patient care services.
Under the guidance of nursing staff, the Patient Monitoring Specialist is responsible for the continuous observation of patients, ensuring a secure and sanitary environment. This role is essential in fostering a therapeutic atmosphere and supporting the nursing team’s efficiency. The Specialist assists with daily living activities, except in cases where the patient's needs may lead to foreseeable health risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct observation of patients as per the nursing care plan and under the supervision of nursing personnel.
- Gather verbal reports from the patient's nurse, including care needs, diagnosis, and any communication barriers.
- Position oneself in the patient’s room to maintain uninterrupted visual contact, ensuring the patient is never left unattended unless instructed by the nurse.
- Accompany patients during testing and procedures, remaining within close proximity unless directed otherwise.
- Assist nursing staff in maintaining a safe and orderly environment for patients.
- Ensure patient comfort, safety, and satisfaction at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized patient environment.
Communication Duties
- Report any changes in the patient's condition to the appropriate nursing staff.
- Monitor patient activities and behaviors, providing regular updates to the nurse.
- Collaborate effectively as a team member, responding to the evolving needs of patients and the unit.
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with patients, families, and healthcare colleagues.
- Offer support and constructive feedback to peers and staff, applying caring principles in all interactions.
- Document observations accurately and inform the RN of any concerning behaviors or changes.
Compliance and Standards
- Perform tasks within the scope of training and in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Adhere to all hospital regulations and nursing standards.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of all patient information.
- Comply with infection control protocols and safety standards.
- Wear personal protective equipment as required.
Qualifications
- Exhibit a positive attitude and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize tasks.
- Recommended understanding of medical terminology.
- Current BLS/CPR certification is preferred.
Education
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
