Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Addiction Recovery Counselor plays a crucial role in supporting individuals struggling with substance use disorders. This position involves a combination of harm reduction strategies, case management, and collaborative team engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Harm Reduction Initiatives: Develop and oversee programs for individuals with Co-Occurring Disorders (CoD). This includes documenting processes, participating in relevant training, and collaborating with associated services to enhance harm reduction practices.
  • Case Management: Manage a caseload of clients by conducting thorough assessments, creating tailored treatment plans, and facilitating access to essential services such as psychiatric care and entitlement programs. Responsibilities also include maintaining comprehensive client records and coordinating with families and other service providers.
  • Team Collaboration: Actively participate in team meetings, case discussions, and training sessions to enhance professional skills. Engage in supervision meetings to track client progress and refine case management strategies.

Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in social work or a related field, or a Bachelor's degree with CASAC certification.
  • Demonstrated experience in assisting clients with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders, alongside strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is preferred but not mandatory.
