Position Overview

Role Summary

The Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) in specialty care are dedicated to delivering comprehensive services with a focus on specific medical systems, managing both acute and chronic conditions in patients. This role primarily involves caring for patients in a hospital setting during night shifts, with a commitment to working at least 90% of the time during these hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts initial and ongoing medical evaluations, including thorough physical examinations and daily patient assessments.
  • Documents findings from examinations, assessments, and care plans meticulously.
  • Performs minor medical and surgical procedures in an office setting.
  • Prescribes medications and manages treatment regimens effectively.
  • Orders and interprets laboratory tests and imaging studies on a daily basis.
  • Develops individualized treatment plans for patients based on their specific needs.
  • Maintains accurate records of all patient interactions, including observations and interventions, in compliance with medical standards.
  • Serves as an advocate for patients within the community served.
  • Participates actively in team meetings and contributes to the development of clinical policies and procedures as needed.
Physical Demands
The role requires physical activities such as walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, and pushing. Candidates must be capable of lifting and supporting up to 35 pounds while handling patients and medical equipment. Proficiency in English is essential for effective communication. The position also necessitates a full range of sensory abilities, including sight, hearing, smell, touch, and dexterity, as well as the capacity to perform under pressure.

Qualifications and Certifications
Candidates must possess a Master's Degree or Doctorate in Nursing Practice. A valid Registered Nurse license is required, along with certification from a nationally recognized certifying body in the relevant area of practice. Preferred certifications include ACNP, AGACNP, AGNP, PNP, or PNP-AC, depending on the patient population served.

For Physician Assistants

A graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program is mandatory, with a Master's Degree being preferred. Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants is also preferred.
