Atrium Health is a prominent community-oriented academic healthcare system serving the regions of North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. We are currently seeking dedicated candidates to join our Hospitalist team, where we combine compassionate care with innovative practices.
The Carolinas Hospitalists Group is in search of a Nocturnist Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to enhance our hospitalist services.
Key Features of the Role:
- Flexible shift patterns
- Focus on adult inpatient care, including admissions and ongoing patient management
- Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine is required
- Collaborative hospital-based practice with a dedicated team of physicians and advanced care providers
- Work schedule of 7 days on followed by 7 days off, or as determined by the specific site
- Availability for holidays, weekends, and extended hours is necessary
- While call is not mandatory, shifts may involve cross-cover duties
- Procedural tasks are not anticipated
- Exclusively focused on adult inpatient medicine
Essential Responsibilities:
- Conducts comprehensive medical histories, physical assessments, and formulates treatment plans for patients.
- Accurately documents all patient interactions, ensuring timely and appropriate entries in the medical record.
- Serves as an advocate for patients and their families within the community.
- Engages in continuous quality improvement initiatives and service excellence efforts.
- Follows access and productivity standards to optimize patient care delivery.
- Adheres to established care protocols to provide effective and innovative management of patient care, both in-person and virtually.
- Actively participates in team meetings and committees.
- Embodies the core values of Atrium Health.
- Complies with the Medical Group Minimum Work Standards.
Qualifications:
Nurse Practitioners:
- Master's Degree or Doctorate in Nursing Practice is mandatory.
- Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license.
- Certification in the relevant practice area from a recognized certifying body is required.
- Preferred certifications include ACNP, AGACNP, AGNP, PNP, or PNP-AC based on the patient population.
Physician Assistants:
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program is essential.
- A Master's Degree is preferred.
- Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants is advantageous.
Physical Requirements:
This role requires physical activities such as walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, and pushing. The ability to lift and support up to 35 pounds is necessary for handling patients and medical equipment. Proficiency in English communication is essential, along with intact sensory functions. The ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations is also required.
